The Herald News: NIU stunned by upstart Ohio U.

Losing 35-12 to No. 1-ranked Ohio State the week before was easy to understand. But giving up more yards and the same number of points to a team that wouldn't have been ranked in the top five in Division 1-A in the state of Ohio stunned the 19,341 in attendance at Huskie Stadium.

"On the defensive side of the ball, they out-toughed us, they out-hustled us," said senior safety and co-captain Dustin Utschig. "It's real disappointing to see our defense have a great week of practice and come out and lay an egg like that. We let everybody down."
