The Chicago Sun-Times: Wolfe gets NIU back on winning track
"That was a great win, one that we really needed," Novak said. "Big plays saved us. But believe me, we still have plenty of things to work on, as many teams to do. We prepared well, and I know our kids still think they can be a real good team."
Novak's defenders – who had been without a sack this season – recorded four against the Bulls (1-2, 0-2), beginning on the first play from scrimmage when defensive end Larry English buried Buffalo quarterback Drew Willy for a six-yard loss. Joining the NIU hit squad were Ken West, Cory Hanson and Brandon Bice. West also blocked a pass.
