The Daily Chronicle: Huskie Notes: Perez rapidly becoming go-to receiver

Northern Illinois wide receiver Marcus Perez is rapidly becoming a big threat in the offense. Perez, who sat out last year because of academic problems, led the Huskies with six catches for 91 yards, with a long reception of 24 yards in NIU's 31-13 victory over Buffalo.

The Daily Chronicle: Wolfe dances around Buffalo defense

Wolfe burst through the left side of the Bulls defense and sped down the sideline while Imes pursued from the right side.

Near the 35-yard line Imes was on a path to meet Wolfe, but the Heisman Trophy candidate slowed and cut to the right, causing Imes to twist left.

Seven yards later, Wolfe cut back left.

Again, Imes twisted in a fruitless effort to keep up, but this time, he tripped over his own feet and stumbled to the turf as Wolfe cruised into the end zone for the fifth-longest touchdown run of his career.

The Daily Chronicle: Huskies get back winning feeling

Forty-two weeks after posting their last victory, the Huskies got that winning feeling back with a workmanlike 31-13 win over Buffalo before 21,117 fans.

The victory ended a three game drought - all losses to teams from Ohio - and helped ease the ache from last week's 35-23 defeat to Ohio.
